The atmosphere is inviting yet uncomplicated—the kind of place where a friendly nod from the staff and the murmur of beachside chatter blend effortlessly. It’s not just about grabbing a quick bite, but about pausing—whether it’s to enjoy a perfectly toasted Cuban sandwich or to cool down with a creamy scoop of coconut ice cream that tastes like summer in every spoonful.
This isn’t a purely tropical escape, nor a dense urban café; it’s a balanced crossroads that honors the local flavors and laid-back lifestyle with genuine warmth. Here, the menu unfolds naturally through moments—sharing a vibrant taco plated with care, sipping on fresh coconut water still subtly sweet and earthy, or indulging in a malted milkshake that carries both nostalgia and a quiet sense of indulgence. A visit to Kooky Coconut feels like soft sunlight on your skin—unrushed, welcoming, and just a little bit magical. Casual little spot with amazing Cuban sandwiches! Quick, efficient service plus friendly employees. Try the Salted Caramel Praline Pecan ice cream, so good.

This iconic spot is located on Indian Rocks Beach. It's very close to our vacation rental and our house, as we live nearby, so we often visit because I'm a big fan of ice cream. All flavors are fantastic, with toasted coconut being my favorite. Their sandwiches are also excellent, especially the Cuban options. My husband, a big fan of tacos, always orders the beef tacos. They also serve fresh coconut, which I haven't tried yet—definitely something to enjoy during the hot summer months. If you're in the area, I highly recommend visiting this hidden gem.

It is a very nice place to grab some ice cream or other food right next to public beach access in Indian Rocks Beach. The service staff all three times that we stopped were pleasant and accommodated our grandson's peanut allergy. Prices are very reasonable. I wish that I could have tried their Cuban sandwich. Friends told me it's the best in the area. Next time, I will.

Stepping into Kooky Coconut Café feels like finding a little tropical treasure by the sea. The atmosphere is cozy, cheerful, and full of sunshine — a perfect place to pause, breathe, and enjoy. Here I discovered the freshest coconut with lemon — so simple, so pure, yet so magical. And my companion ordered their Anleche Ice coffee — smooth, refreshing, and full of flavor. Together it was the perfect balance — tropical lightness and gentle energy. Alongside, the café offers a wonderful variety: ice creams, craft cakes, sandwiches, and salads — all served with love and a smile. Every detail makes you feel at home — warm, cared for, and welcomed. Kooky Coconut Café is not just a café, it’s a gentle embrace in the middle of the day. Thank you for your hospitality — the world feels brighter with you in it.

We stopped in for a last minute bite to eat for lunch. It was our first visit. The employees were friendly and helpful with the menu. Our Island Cuban did not disappoint. My husband and I shared a 9" sandwich and that was plenty They cut and divided it between two baskets. Before we left we had ice cream. I inquired as to where it was made because I am an ice cream snob and didnt want anything I can buy myself in a store. The girl at the counter pointed out that Yoders (brown bins) were homemade Our flavors were delish! Pumpkin Swirl, salted praline pecan, rum raisin and Kahlua espresso I definitely recommend going here and supporting local.

top notch Cubans! Up there with el Segundo - I strongly recommend. They also have locally sourced gelato that looked good. We got the island Cuban it comes with pesto and it didn’t disappoint… Nice seating outdoors and the store is about 300 feet from the beach… service was chill, helpful and friendly

I stumbled upon this little gem while on vacation in the Tampa area and it did not disappoint! I grabbed some ice cream and a fresh coconut, and both were absolutely refreshing and delicious. The ice cream was creamy, flavorful, and perfect for the warm weather, while the fresh coconut was naturally sweet and hydrating exactly what I needed on a sunny day. The spot has a relaxed, friendly vibe, making it perfect for a quick treat while exploring the area. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Tampa and craving something sweet and refreshing!
